Finance & General Purposes Committee

Purpose

This committee manages all of the financial matters relating to the work of the Council. It ensures that all income due is received, that all expenditure is properly authorised and that value for money is achieved. It reviews the various financial risks faced by the Council and arranges for the appropriate level of insurance. The Council is governed by two sets of rules, Standing Orders and Financial Regulations making sure that these are followed and that they are kept up to date is the responsibility of this committee. The committee also considers matters of policy that arise and makes recommendations to the Council as to adoption. Staff matters are dealt with here together with the maintenance and management of the Parish Office.
