Recreation & Amenities Committee

Purpose

The committee is responsible for the care and maintenance of three play areas in the parish and each is provided with a variety of play equipment. A garden of remembrance has recently been provided at St James and the committee will be arranging for the provision of flowerbeds and benches. It has also provided dog waste bins, litter bins, bus shelters and public benches in various places and is responsible for their maintenance. As a result of views expressed by residents in the Parish Plan the committee has set up a working group to investigate the provision of swimming facilities in the area. The Quedgeley Sports & Recreation Centre is progressing and it is proposed that this committee will have responsibility for management of the site and buildings with the assistance of a management group representing all interested parties. This committee is tasked with looking for ways in which it can improve the environment to the benefit of Quedgeley and suggestions are always most welcome.
