I joined the Parish Council more than six years ago as I felt things needed to be done. So instead of sitting there moaning about it, I decided to do something positive and became a Parish Councillor. As Chair of the Recreation and Amenities Committee I work hard to improve the facilities in the parish and to make Quedgeley a place to be proud of.

I am employed as a Trainer and the company I work for has a contract with the Job Centre, where people who have been signing on as unemployed for a while, come to us on a 10 day course that helps them to get back to work. I show them how to produce a CV, how to send out letters, where to look for jobs and how to go about getting interviews. Other assistance they may need is also provided and I try and point them in the right direction.

Having a puppy I set an example as a responsible dog owner and love taking him out for walks, which also helps as when doing this I can see where dog bins or litter bins may be needed and would really like to see a play area for dogs - and why not!
