Councillor Emily Barrett (Fieldcourt Ward)

I moved to Quedgeley a year ago with my partner, after we graduated from University.

I decided to join the Parish Council as I felt there was a slight gap in representation on the council. I believe that members of Quedgeley and Kingway’s youth are just as much a part of our community and I wanted to ensure that they had a voice when it comes to local issues.

I grew up on the outskirts of Cambridge and was attracted to Quedgeley and its community atmosphere similar to that which I had grown up in. I want to be a part of the exciting growth that Quedgeley and Kingsway is currently undergoing while trying to ensure that the sense of community is not lost.

I am a Guest Services Manager at the Holiday Inn Express on Waterwells Business Park and most weekends I can be found down at Kingsholm supporting our Cherry & White boys.

I am a firm believer in the idea that local councillors should be the ears and hands and that the community are the voice. I want to make the council more transparent so the community can easily see where their extra council tax is going and ensure that no member of our community is forgotten. Councillors are here to serve everyone; I want to serve Quedgeley and provide a young, energetic, proactive councillor to ensure that every view is heard and delivered to the best of my ability.
