I moved to Quedgeley, from the City centre, with my (then) young family in 1991, became a Quedgeley Parish Councillor in 1999 and was Chairman of the Parish Council from 2001 to 2006.

My purpose for becoming a Councillor was to try to make Quedgeley a more attractive place in which to live, with more local facilities and to try to get the City and County Councils to spend the money they had already received from developers by way of planning gain.

In 2005 I received an award from the County Council for 20 years long service as a Governor of Tuffley Primary School and for eight years I was a Parent Governor at Ribston Hall High School. I have also been Chair of Ribston Hall Association, Treasurer and Chair of Crypt School Association, Deputy Chair of King’s School Parent’s Association and Chair of Gloucester City Branch of Unison.

Currently I am a Unison Health & Safety Officer and am employed by Severn Trent Water Limited as a Civil Engineer, managing sewerage projects.

I have a keen interest in the environment, heritage and consumer rights and as such am a member of the Consumers Association, National Trust, and English Heritage.

June 2006
