Plan Achievements

Objective 1 – To improve the sustainability of the transport network serving Quedgeley.

(a) Smoother speed bumps.
The City Council are to review all speed bumps in the City however despite the protests of your Parish Council, those in Quedgeley will be the last to be considered as they were the last to be installed.
(b) Completion of the cycle path between Hardwicke, Quedgeley and the canal.
A grant is currently being pursued to complete this.
(c) Improvements to canal paths.
Some progress has been made but further effort is required.

Objective 2 – To increase the provision of leisure, retail and social activities for all ages in appropriate locations.

(a) Swimming pool.
A lot of work has been put into this by Parish Councillors from both Quedgeley and Hardwicke and several volunteers, however despite this, it seems that such provision will not be viable. We will keep you informed.
(b) Internet café.

(c) Retail including farmer’s market and DIY store.
Your Parish Council has contacted all of the major DIY retailers and even some smaller stores in the City but to date, none have been willing to provide a store in Quedgeley.
(d) Social activities.
A skateboard park has been provided at the Fieldcourt play area, a pod where youngsters can meet is to be provided on the Kingsway site, football pitches have been provided at Waterwells and changing facilities are now completed. The Parish Council has made £2,000 available to the Youth Parish Council for suitable projects.
